“Girl Be Heard made me not only want to be an actress and performer, but also an activist and feminist. GBH has made me appreciate the opportunities in my life and made me want to speak out for girls in other countries and in my community.”

I was born and raised in the South Bronx and have been a member of Girl Be Heard since 2010. I have surpassed many hardships and struggles in life, one being losing my mother and father at a very young age and having had to fight for survival. At Girl Be Heard, I am a leading step dance choreographer, songwriter and mentor to new girls. I love the feeling I get when I’m on stage motivating and inspiring others. Girl Be Heard made me not only want to be an actress and performer, but also an activist and feminist. Today I want people to realize that women are important human beings that deserve equal rights. I also want to end violence around the world. Girl Be Heard has made me appreciate the opportunities in my life and made me want to speak out for girls in other countries and in my community. More than anything else, we’re a family. We put our ideas together and empower each other to do great things.
