“To be a part of Girl Be Heard and support my fellow girls is so rewarding. Everyone’s story is worth being heard.”
Born in Manhattan but raised in Queens, I am proud to help girls and women be heard. I started writing poetry in Girl Be Heard in Fall of 2012. Since then I have performed my first self written monologue at the Estrogenius Theater Festival. I look forward to learning about the trials and tribulations that face women locally and globally and to help them be heard. We have all grown so close in only a couple of months. Writing from the heart and exposing dark places that haven’t seen light is emotional work. To be a part of the workshops and support my fellow girls is so rewarding. I love hearing each girl’s story and encouraging them to share. I feel so safe to open up and share my story, too. Everyone’s story is worth being heard.
