Dear Friends,

Welcome to Girl Be Heard’s After-school end-of-year show!

We could not be prouder of the inspiring young artists and activists speaking out, many for the first time today. These budding young talents give life to our mission to develop, amplify, and celebrate the voices of young women through socially conscious theatre-making. What began as “girl power” orkshop in 2009, has blossomed to become a globally renowned methodology, education curriculum, and year-round program in 1 schools and 2 ommunity centers. We also have a program in Trinidad and Tobago.

All of the theatrical work you are about to see is written and performed by our participants.

We are deeply indebted to all the partners and supporters that have helped to make our programs a success. At the very heart of this are irl Be Heard eaching Artists who amaze us with their artistry, social justice ideals, and fierce commitment to the students they serve via free programs across New York City.

As the threats upon the lives of women, immigrants, people of color, and LGBTQIA communities persist, Girl Be Heard hopes our performance gives you a new sense of hope and purpose. Together, we can and will rise up and stage the revolution by honoring the powerful voices of those we serve.

Thank you from our Girl Be Heard family to yours!
